The community claims many of the city’s top school districts and high schools, and several universities and community colleges are in the area as well. Branches of the University of Houston, Our Lady of the Lake University, Houston Community College, and Lone Star College are all located in North Houston, while Sam Houston State University is just a short drive to nearby Huntsville.

Residents of North Houston enjoy a plethora of annual events and community festivals all across town. Just a few local favorites include The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, the Autumn Art and Texas Wine Festival, SpringFest and more.
